What this site collects, and what it doesn't.
This is a personal portfolio, not a product. Two things here collect anything at all: a page-view counter, and the contact form. Both are described below in full.

Analytics
I use Google Analytics 4 (property G-J3131YEJJR) to see which pages get read and roughly where readers come from. That is the whole purpose. I do not run advertising, do not build profiles, do not attempt to identify anyone individually, and do not sell or share the data with anyone beyond Google as the processor.
When it is switched on, Google sets two cookies — _ga and _ga_J3131YEJJR — holding a random identifier that lets a repeat visit be recognised as the same browser. They are not linked to your name, and nothing you type into the contact form is sent to Google.
Where the law requires permission first — the EEA, the UK, Switzerland and Quebec — analytics storage starts switched off. No cookie is written and no identifier is sent unless you accept the notice, and Google receives only an anonymous, cookieless signal that a page was viewed. Everywhere else, including the rest of Canada, it starts on and you can switch it off here at any time.
The contact form
The form on the contact page asks for your name, your email address, an optional company, and your message. It is handled by Netlify Forms: submissions are stored in the site's Netlify dashboard and emailed to me. Nothing is passed anywhere else, and the address is used to reply to you — not added to a mailing list, because there isn't one.

Hosting
The site is hosted by Netlify, which keeps standard server logs — including IP addresses — as part of serving and protecting it. That happens for every request, before any code of mine runs, and is not something the switch above controls.
Your data, and your say over it
The analytics data holds no name or address, so there is generally nothing there to look up on request. If you have used the contact form, ask and I will tell you exactly what I hold and delete it — no particular form of words needed. Depending on where you live you may also have a statutory right to access, correct, delete or port your data, or to complain to a regulator; those rights apply here whether or not this page lists them.

Changes
If what the site collects changes, this page changes with it and the date above moves. There is no version history — the current page is the whole policy.
